Dark Chocolate & Banana Iced Bites
Simple yet elegant with a creamy texture after dinner treat. It's so easy to make too that'll want to kick yourself it took you so long to find it. Well at least that's what we wanted to do when I came up with the recipe. Ok so I say quick yet the banana have to stay in the freezer overnight, but other than that....
Simply remove the banana skin, chop the said banana into 4 chunks. Slice them lengthways and divide the hazelnut butter between them. Close up the chunks again and stick a lolipop stick into each one as you would an ice lolly. Place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Freeze for a few hours or overnight.
When ready melt the chocolate. Remove the 'ice lollies' and leave at room temperature for a few minutes. They should be easy to bite into but still firm. Spoon over over the banana chunks. Alternatively, roll each banana chunk in a bowl of the chocolate until covered. The chocolate sauce cools very quickly so as soon as you cover in chocolate then roll in some hulled hemp seeds.
Eat up or freeze again unti ready to use later.
If you using later on simply remove from the freezer and allow to come to room temperature (while you make the tea) and eat up.
We did notice that the nut butter remained harder than the rest of the iced pop. It didn't bother us as it feels a lot like toffee when you're chewing on it.
Not that this needs saying these days but please, for your own sake, ensure the ingredients you use are suitable for your diet.
